Transform the World = Conservation of Animals
As some of you know, Hilda and I were in San Diego this past week for three primary reasons:
1) To check out some possible locations/venues for a future Executive Program
2) To take a MBTI Certification Program
3) Connect with nature/animals as part of our support for "transforming the world."
At LSI, we already have two coaches certified to deliver Myers Briggs Personality Assessment program (Cathy Vanderkooy and Hilda Henry), but I felt that it may be practical for me to get certified as well, since often times I have to travel to international locations on my own and it would be helpful if I can deliver the MBTI sessions independently of others. It's been a while since I have taken an educational/certification course (the last time was when I completed the operations management executive certification at MIT in Boston), so it was both exciting and challenging to take 4 days off to study!
I will talk about MBTI a bit more later this week, but I also wanted to share some photos of us from the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. Since LSI's mission and values is to "transform the world," both Hilda and I felt that connecting with animals at the zoo is part of an important mission. This is because San Diego Zoo spends significant amount of energy, time, and resources for conservation purposes, which is in alignment with our vision to help change the world in some positive way. The San Diego Zoo's mission is "Conservation First" - they are committed to generating, sharing, and applying scientific knowledge vital to the conservation of animals, plants, and habitats worldwide (source: http://www.sandiegozoo.org/).
So we were excited to be invited by the San Diego Zoo to actually come in contact with the various animals, and to talk directly to the trainers and keepers of some of the finest wild life in the world.
Seeing the Panda's (especially the the five-month-old Yun Zi) was so amazing! But feeding giraffe, Flamingo, and Rhinoceros was a true highlight! Their dedication to these animals was inspiring, and we want to thank the San Diego Zoo for making a special arrangement for us. It was memorable and insightful.
