We are going to continue counting down each day and present the unfolding of Japan Lean Tour events leading up to the earthquake day. Monday March 7th was the first official kick off of the Japan Lean Tour program. It was a "soft start" as we balanced business objectives of the day with some sightseeing. We went to visit Softbank, one of the largest software/cellular providers and listened an insightful lecture by Mr. Sakae, a former supply chain executive from Olympus.
We spent the afternoon visiting Tokyo tower and Ginza, where we studied how Japanese use 5S in their department stores.

Again, please keep in mind that this video was filmed and edited four days before the earthquake, and therefore the atmosphere was still upbeat and uplifting as we had no idea what would take place later that week.
